priorities for implementation in 2012/13

the main goals for the library program for 2012/13 will be:

1. conversion of the library to embrace a "learning commons"  environment
1. Strategies to include: 
1.  Completely revamp the PGSS library web presence - model it after PRHS Library  
1. Revisit the issue of a PGSS library Twitter & Facebook presence
2. preparation and implementation of a scope and sequence document to introduce all the elements of referencing including footnoting and bibliography at all grade levels
1. Strategies to include: 
1. More and better integration of access to and use of online databases
1. Create guides to the tools 
2. Discussions with departments on expectations for documentation at each grade
1. More detailed handouts on styles/strategies  for each grade level
3. preparation and implementation of a scope and sequence document to introduce all the elements  Internet safety and appropriate use at all grade levels
1. Strategies to include: 
1. Evaluating websites CRAPP test
4. To encourage reading in the junior grades 
1. Strategies to include:
1. Booktalking to the grade 8 & 9 English & classes using Rob Reid's "Reid's Read-Alouds" resources
2. A "display table of Ms Hunter's & Mrs. Kilbey's Favourites" featuring titles for juniors
